SUMMARY:EuroCham HR Committee
DESCRIPTION:On the 24th of April\, the HR Committee will be gathering to discuss the topic of Value of Work in Asia. The Value of Work in Asia is a perhaps the major issue of HR leaders in the region. Payroll costs are going up creating talent wars for key positions. Many countries in Asia where investment and operations assumed cheap labor have to shift to higher value added work. The challenge for HR leaders is to develop talent to keep up with the rise in salaries and to continue to organise companies for high productivity growth. What is the reality of human development across Asia today? What are companies doing to develop the quality of talent and deploy talent effectively across Asia?\nWe are delighted to welcome two Top Leaders in this critical area\, an expert and a practitioner to discuss the above issues.\n\nMs Su-Yen Wong is Chairman\, at Marsh & McLennan Companies and Senior Advisor to Mercer and Oliver Wyman. She is Chairman of the Board\, Nera Telecommunications; and a member of the Board of Directors\, MediaCorp.\n\nMr Philippe Bonnet is Vice President and Global Head of Learning & Development at Essilor — the function is based in Singapore. Essilor is the world’s leading ophthalmic opticsc ompany.\nAbout the HR Committee:\nThe HR Committee aims to represent the common interests of the European business community concerning human resources\, talent and leadership. The HR committee actively promotes exchanges among professionals on best practice and perspectives in Europe\, Singapore and Asia-Pacific.\nThis meeting is for EuroCham Members only.\nShould you be interested in attending\, please contact yiannis.korkovelos@eurocham.org.sg
