SUMMARY:HR Committee Meeting - Educating World Class HR Professionals
DESCRIPTION:On the 29th of January 2016\, the HR Committee will be meeting to address the need for “Educating world class HR Professionals” with a focus on Asia. Please come prepared with your priorities for HR programs and share your experience of the good\, the bad and the ugly in HR education. \nMr. Richard Smith\, Senior Lecturer of Strategic Management and Academic Director of the Msc in Management at the Singapore Management University (SMU)\, will take a deep dive into SMU’s New Master degree program for HR professionals discussing the importance of advanced HR education based on SMU’s research on HR leaders. Other EuroCham Business school members will be invited to inform members of their programs as well. \nIn addition\, Mr. Jukka Majanen\, Director\, Corporate Partnerships at INSEAD will give a presentation to members and Mr. Jeremy Blain\, Regional Managing Director at Cegos Asia Pacific\, will be informing our Committee of Cego’s upcoming research on drivers for change heading to 2020s workplace – distilling the ‘truths’ from the myths. \nThis meeting is for EuroCham Members only. \nShould you be interested in attending\, please contact the Policy & Corporate Affairs Manager\, Mr Yiannis Korkovelos at yiannis.korkovelos@eurocham.org.sg \n. \nBIOGRAPHY \n  \n. \nMr. Richard Smith is Senior Lecturer of Strategic Management and Academic Director of the Master of human Capital Leadership\, at SMU since October 2014.  Prior to this position\, Mr. Smith was Senior Lecturer of Organisational Behaviour and Human Resources. His research interests are human capital strategy\, talent management in Asia\, cross-border leadership and culture change. \n. \n. \n \n \nMr. Jeremy Blain is the Regional Managing Director for Cegos Asia Pacific Pte Ltd. He is also a Partner with Cegos Group following a leveraged MBO in 2006. An L&D entrepreneur Jeremy has over 14 years experience in the industry as a managing director\, partner\, trainer\, coach and programme author. In previous roles at Procter and Gamble\, PepsiCo and as CEO of his own business\, Jeremy’s background includes marketing\, sales\, operations and account management.Jeremy is a frequent international conference speaker and media commentator on topics related to the global L&D market. Throughout his career\, Jeremy has been driven by achieving results through people and how best to upskill them and give them the knowledge they need to achieve their true potential. Jeremy believes that individuals should be at the heart of all corporate training strategies and that the learning goal drives everything. \n
