Professor James Wang from Nanyang Technological University Singapore further enriched the session with his dynamic panel moderation. \n🍃 Sustainability & Innovation: Thomas COCHELIN\, Chair of the Aerospace & Air Travel Committee emphasized that innovation and disruption are vital. The drive to decarbonize air travel is not just a trend\, but a necessity! \n🔧 Technological Aspects: \nKey elements in Air Mobility include SAF feedstock\, synthetic fuel\, hydrogen\, and the conceptualization of air mobility as a service. \nKah Meng spotlighted critical trends: \n· The escalating importance of sustainability.\n· Technological innovations.\n· Addressing road traffic congestion.\n· The perception of air mobility as a service. \nCommercial aviation’s roadmap to net-zero: Approximately 35-40% through tech advancements\, 5-10% via operational improvements\, ~50% with sustainable aviation fuels\, and 5-10% via offset schemes. \nOn the horizon: Adoption of lighter materials\, Safran’s collaborative ventures in electric/hybrid propulsion\, and air mobility solutions to alleviate road congestion. \n🌐 Business Dynamics: Professor\nProfessor @James Wang highlighted the 800+ start-ups worldwide focusing on Air Mobility. While start-ups are quick and agile\, industry leaders like Airbus have more resources for R&D. However\, one consensus stands tall: No compromise on safety and regulations! \n🚁 Helicopter Evolution:\nSafran is pioneering advancements in helicopters with hybrid engines tailored to market needs. Meanwhile\, Airbus leads in VTOL technology\, aiming for a sustainable future in both civil and military sectors. \nNotable initiatives include the Racer and City Airbus projects\, which focus on urban air mobility and broader community services such as medical aid\, connectivity\, and eco-tourism. \nThe new generation emphasizes speed\, cost-efficiency\, and a 20% reduction in both noise and emissions. Keep an eye out: the first flight of the RACER project is slated for 2023\, with more demonstrations on the horizon for next year! \nA heartfelt thank you to Valerie PATUEL and Safran for hosting the panel and for the refreshments. \n

SUMMARY:Webinar: Green Consumer and Sustainable Travel
DESCRIPTION:Synopsis \nWith borders slowly opening up both here in Singapore and elsewhere around the world\, many are starting to consider the logistics of travelling again. While sustainable travelling may have been on consumers’ minds previously\, the pandemic has brought it to the forefront in a more profound manner. Booking.com’s 2021 Sustainable Travel Report shows that not only do 81% of global travellers believe that sustainable travel is vital\, but also 61% of those surveyed indicate that the pandemic has made them want to travel more sustainably in the future. \nIt is important to note that sustainable travel is not just about the individual consumer who is pushing for greener choices in their travel itinerary. It is also about the greener choices corporate consumers can make through their investments and support for the industry-wide change being driven by a switch to alternatives such as airlines operating via sustainable aviation fuel\, or properties and hotels that are going plastic-free\, land transport that incurs low energy waste\, etc. \nDespite the desire to travel sustainably\, it has been observed that travellers still struggle to do so. The industry has yet to see a large-scale change in consumer behaviour and it would be valuable to discuss how companies can accelerate sustainable travelling given their insight into the constraints faced by consumers. The answers are like a puzzle. \nAbout the Speakers\nJan Lambregts\, Global Head of Financial Markets Research\, Rabobank\nBased in London\, Jan Lambregts oversees a worldwide team of analysts and strategists who cover macro\, foreign exchange\, fixed income\, credit and agri commodities for key clients. SUMMARY:EuroCham Roundtable discussion: Counting and Cutting the Cost of Regulatory Reporting - World class made in Austria
DESCRIPTION:We are delighted to invite you to attend our 2-hours business breakfast to discuss the topic of “Counting and Cutting the Cost of Compliance” with regard to the World Class Austrian regulatory reporting model\, Austrian Reporting Services (or short “AuRep”). \nThe Austrian national bank (OeNB) and the financial institutions in Austria have joined forces and use new technologies to create a new Regulatory Value Chain. The AuRep GmbH is co-owned by eight of the largest Austrian banking groups\, representing 90% of the Austrian bank market and 800 banks. It runs a common software platform based on BearingPoint’s Abacus which works as a central interface between the banks and the OeNB supporting national and international supervisory and statistical reporting. \nThe main drivers for the project were to lighten the compliance burden and to reduce costs and complexity of reporting processes in Austria. Nearly 600 Austrian financial institutions are currently using the platform in Austria which has enabled streamlined communications and aligned processes with the regulatory authority. The AuRep project also equips the participating financial institutions with a flexible and configurable solution to easily adopt new tenants and regulations. \nThe innovative solution increases the efficiency of supervisory processes\, while reducing risk and cost for both\, financial institutions and the regulator. It’s a milestone in the terms of innovation and reshaping the way of reporting which potentially could be replicated in other markets. \nJoin us in this opportunity to discuss the future of regulatory compliance as we continue to push the boundary on innovation and reshape regulatory reporting. \nThis interactive discussion will look at key issues including:\n– The importance of selecting the right operational structure for compliance.\n– The impact of the rise of reporting utilities\, driven by the relentless demand on compliance teams to cut costs.\n– The extent to which complexity is a major driver of those costs\, and the benefits associated with adopting uniform\, centralised processes. \nProgramme: \n8:30 AM: Registration and Breakfast \n9:00 AM: Welcome Remarks – Her Excellency Mrs. Karin Fichtinger-Grohe\, Ambassador of Austria to Singapore\n9:10 AM: Roundtable Discussion\nPanellist:\n– Dr. Johannes Turner\, Director Statistics Department\, Oesterreichische Nationalbank (OeNB)\n– Representative of Monetary Authority of Singapore (TBC)\n– Representative of a Bank in Singapore (TBC)\n– Dr. Maciej Piechocki\, BearingPoint RegTech Management Board\nModerator: TBC\n10:20 AM: Closing Remarks \n10:30 AM: End of Meeting  \nDr. Maciej Piechocki \nBearingPoint RegTech Management Board \nDr. Maciej Piechocki is RegTech Management Board Member at BearingPoint.
