SUMMARY:Asian Wealth Management Summit 2015
DESCRIPTION:Seven years after the global financial crisis of 2008\, the business of wealth management has fundamentally changed. Across the world\, regulations are becoming more stringent – posing new challenges around minimum capital and liquidity requirements\, proprietary trading restrictions and rules relating to offshore assets and income. In addition\, changing preferences and increasingly high expectations from clients mean wealth management is more competitive than ever. In South East Asia\, firms hopeful for the inauguration of the ASEAN Economic Community remain poised to see whether more member states are to open up their financial services sectors in 2015. \nWhat does banking liberalisation in countries like the Philippines mean for international players looking to access increasingly affluent customers across the region? How can wealth management firms bring their expertise to prosperous yet unbanked entrepreneurs and businessmen from emerging markets in Asia? In what ways are online platforms and innovative technologies shaking up the wealth management industry? And is there a distinct cultural difference in managing Asian clients? \nThe Asian Wealth Management Summit will gather C-suite and director- level executives from the region’s leading private banks\, family offices\, investment banks and asset managers – as well as specialist advisers and consultants – to shed light on where the most lucrative opportunities lie\, and what firms must do to capture these opportunities and grow their book of business. \nBuilding on the success of the two previous Summits\, this year’s edition\, organised by the Financial Times\, in collaboration with Labuan International Business and Financial Centre (Labuan IBFC)\, will incorporate the fifth Banker – PWM Global Private Banking Awards 2015. Global award winners will be announced at a gala dinner following the Summit. \nTo learn more about the event\, kindly visit the website: Asian Wealth Management Summit \nTo enjoy a discount as a EuroCham member\, use “EuroCham2015″ VIP code and kindly register HERE

SUMMARY:Edrington Asia-Pacific Charity Bike Ride
DESCRIPTION:This year Edrington Asia-Pacific will be supporting Child at Street 11 – a multi-racial\, secular\, independent\, non-profit organisation dedicated to helping low income and dysfunctional families in Singapore by providing quality early years education for their children. \nTitled “Ride for the Children at Street 11″\, a team of more than 15 riders from Edrington offices in the region will be undertaking a gruelling 400 km charity bike ride from Kuala Lumpur to Singapore on 21-23 November 2015. The riders comprise of individuals in their late 20s to early 50s\, across a whole range of job functions like sales\, finance\, supply chain and marketing. However\, they are united by one common purpose and that is to reach their target of collecting S$20\,000 via donations from family and friends as they embark on this challenge. \nWith the “Giving is Rewarding” double matching principle\, it is hoped that S$60\,000 can be raised and donated to Child at Street 11 as they seek to strengthen their pre-school programme which aims to break the cycle of dependency by providing at-risk children with their basic educational needs in an innovative and effective manner. \nWe hope you will support the team in this tough challenge by making a donation\, no matter how small\, on www.sggives.org/street11. As you know\, the great news is that every donation will be double matched by Edrington and The Robertson Trust\, so if you give $10\, this actually means $30 going to the Children at Street 11. \nPlease pledge your donations at www.sggives.org/street11 and under dedication\, please indicate who are you donating in support for so that it can be double-matched: \n(Example\, “IN SUPPORT OF MARTIN REIMANN FROM EDRINGTON”). \nList of cyclists as below: \n\nMartin Reimann – Regional Managing Director\, APAC & India\nGeoff Kirk – Regional Managing Director\, SEA\nNeville Ross – Regional Finance Director\, APAC & India\nVictoria Hollywood – Regional Supply Chain Director\, APAC & India\nRyan Hill – Managing Director\, Asia Travel Retail\nDavid Pattison – Area Director\, India & Japan\nTellis Baroutsis – Managing Director\, Global Travel Retail\nHowe Luo – Sales Manager\, Singapore\nJerome Lim – Sales Executive\, Singapore\nKen Tsang – Sales Manager\, Hong Kong\nCarlos Fong – Sales Manager\, Hong Kong\nAlan Hsu – Trade Marketing Executive\, Asia Travel Retail (Taiwan)\nKevin Wei – Senior Product Manager\, Taiwan\nRandall Tan – Brand Advocate\, The Macallan & Highland Park & Media Personality\n\nBackground of the charity – Child at Street 11 \nChild at Street 11 www.street11.org.sg is a multi-racial\, secular\, independent\, non-profit organisation dedicated to helping low income and dysfunctional families provide quality early years education for their children. \nUNICEF believes that whether a child fulfils her or his vast potential is largely in the hands of the family\, the community and country into which she or he is born. Child at Street 11 shares this belief. \nThe early years of life\, especially the first six years\, are crucial for development. Child at Street 11 helps children so that they will grow up to be emotionally and intellectually healthy and develop not just language skills\, but thinking and social skills. \nStarted in April 1999\, the Centre serves children aged two to six in a full day programme. This pioneer programme\, was initiated by a group of concerned professionals who had found from their research that children from low income families had difficulties coping with their education in school. \nThe programme now has a well-integrated programme\, involving children\, parents and the community. This program includes a wide range of activities that go beyond academics and involve the children in activities that requires critical thinking and team work. \nUsing trained early childhood educators\, social workers and education psychologists\, the Centre has helped children do well in school and enabled parents to provide a safer\, happier and more conducive home environment for themselves and their children. \nAn integrated\, multi-sector approach is necessary because there is no one agency that has the resources or expertise to help children and families overcome problems of illiteracy\, violence and unemployment. Investment in a good early years education will help society save millions in later life. Child at Street 11’s programme for children and parents are preventive in nature and will in the long run help strengthen society. \nChild at Street 11 strongly believes that children have rights to sound education\, good health and protection against violence and abuse.
