SUMMARY:Special Workshop Series - Women in Leadership: Getting yourself "unstuck"
DESCRIPTION:From the various initiatives that have been explored by the BritCham Women in Business Committee\, it has become clear that in addition to the “glass ceiling”\, women often struggle to develop confidence in their abilities and promote their own career progression. \nAs a way to give current and aspiring leaders the opportunity to understand how this concept applies to their own success\, and identify where they need to focus their development\, the BritCham Women in Business Committee has partnered with Wentworth People to offer a career development programme which is structured in 5 modules. The programme is aimed at assisting women to drive their own development so as to avoid getting stuck on the “sticky floor”. \nThe workshops will run fortnightly from 17:30 to 20:00\, and is expected to last 2.5 hours per session. The contents of the workshops are follows: \n \n\n\n\n\nDate\nTopic\nModules\n\n\n 1\nWed 9th September\nBreaking through self-limiting beliefs\n– Identity and values (who are you?) \n– Being more than your limiting beliefs \n\n– Identifying and understanding your values and what is most important to you\n\n\n\n\n2\nWed 23rd September\nPersonal branding to meet your ambitions (where do you want\nto be)\n– Creating and living your personal brand and identity \n\n– How others see you vs. how you wish to be perceived\n\n– Reputation\n\n\n3\nWed 7th October\nThe perfect pitch: introducing yourself powerfully and interestingly\n– Create\, develop and practice so you can stand out from the crowd and make a statement- Take bolder action and express your own voice\n\n\n4\nWed 21st October\nImportance of the right mind-set to network successfully\n– Motivations and drivers to networking \n– Understanding social influence\n\n\n\n5\nWed 4th November\nRealising your ambitions\n– Being politically astute \n– Stakeholder mapping – who influences who\n\n\n\n\nAt the end of the programme\, you will be able to: \n\n– Uncover the beliefs that may be limiting the growth of your career / business. \n– Create your personal brand/identity and understand how this supports you in standing out from the crowd. \n– Create a clear vision and identify action items in relation to your professional success. \n– Build a network of like-minded professionals like yourself.\n\n\n\n\nIn order to make the programme as accessible as possible\, the Women and Business Committee and Wentworth People will be sponsoring it. As such\, the programme is offered at a cost of $150 per participant (discounted from $1\,500).\nParticipants are expected to commit to the following: \n\n\n\n\n– Arriving on time (bearing in mind each session only lasts for 2.5 hours) \n– Attending every session with an open mind\, enthusiasm and energy\n\n\n\n\n\n  \n\n\n\n\n\nThe sponsorship for your full fees of $1500 is covered by BritCham and Wentworth People on the basis of your 100% attendance. \n– ‘Paying it forward’ by sharing your learning and helping another female aspiring leader in your company with their personal development and growth. Not only will you be helping someone else\, you will also be embedding your own learning through hands-on practice and teaching. \n– Cementing your own learning between sessions by practising and implementing the tools and techniques between sessions. \n– Supporting and participating in group sessions within the programme\, and actively building on networks created upon completion of the programme. This means bringing an individual agenda to the programme\, as well as providing support to others that participate.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTo enrol in the programme\, register via this link\nIf you are experiencing difficulty registering\, please email Alexandra@britcham.org.sg for assistance.\nAs space is limited for the event\, interested participants are required to fill in a form before their attendance is confirmed.
