SUMMARY:SwissCham: Global trends in the world of wine
DESCRIPTION:How Asia\, technology and millennial consumers are changing the wine landscape \nWe are witnessing the rise of Asia as a wine consumer and in some cases\, even as a wine producer. Millennial consumers want to drink wines that are enjoyable\, but also healthy and produced in harmony with the environment. Technology and social media are changing the way we buy\, consume and talk about wine. Threats to the wine world abound too: climate change and sustainability\, wine fraud\, unbalance in demand and supply …  Still\, quality and variety of the wines available to us today have never been as high and wide. Our brief overview of today’s powerful trends driving transformation in the world of wine will be accompanied by the tasting of a few wines from Wine Universe’s wide selection\, made from characteristic grapes closely linked to their terroir and demonstrating the variety and richness of contemporary wine production. \nFor more information about the event\, please click here \nAgenda \n07:00 – 07:30 PM Registration and Welcome Apero\n08:00 – 08:45 PM Presentation & Discussion\n08:45 – 09:00 PM Q&A\n09:00 – 10:00 PM Tapas

SUMMARY:ESSEC: Personal Disruption: The New Currency Of Success
DESCRIPTION:Unprecedented technological advancements have democratized information and created new opportunities for organizations to co-create with their customers. Today\, an organization’s competitive advantage hinges on its ability to understand and meet the needs of an increasingly well-informed customer base. To help organizations transform from service or product-driven to customer-driven businesses\, leaders must themselves self-disrupt to develop a new customer-centric strategic mindset. \nThis talk will challenge you to adopt a “growth mindset” which fosters curiosity in seeking opportunities to learn and improve existing competencies. This includes learning to face and overcome fear to become a better and inspirational leader. By embracing personal disruption\, leaders will be better positioned to successfully build a customer-centric culture. The speaker will explore how to leverage great leadership skills to align a customer-centric culture with a complementary strategy to outperform competitors\, and as a result create long-term competitive advantage that competitors find difficult to challenge or replicate. \nJoining the leadership discussion are Prof. Kevyn Yong\, Dean of ESSEC Asia-Pacific and Prof. Cedomir Nestorovic\, Program Director of the ESSEC & Mannheim Executive MBA Asia-Pacific program. \nClick here to see more informaiton.

SUMMARY:Malaysia Elections: Outcome Briefing
DESCRIPTION:Pictures of the event:  \n \n  \n  \nWhither Malaysia? Assessing the Impact for Investors of the Post-Election Political Transition \nFor the first time since Malaysia’s independence\, UMNO and its coalition Barisan Nasional (BN) have been voted out. The alliance that is taking over power\, Pakatan Harapan (PH)\, brings back together former UMNO stalwarts and then political opponents\, Dr Mahathir Mohamad and Anwar Ibrahim. \nWhile the transition to a new government is progressing smoothly\, the reshuffle of the country’s ruling elite is creating significant uncertainty. It remains unclear to what extent PH will now seek to overturn BN’s policies\, whether in relation to trade\, investment and the economy\, or to the country’s foreign policy including towards China. \nThe seminar will shed light on the political and social dynamics behind the earth-shattering election’s results. It will also provide insights on Malaysia’s new leadership. Last\, it will offer prospective views on the impact for investors of the ongoing transition. \nSpeakers: \nMohamed Nawab Osman is the Coordinator of the Malaysia Program at RSIS and a Senior Advisor at Asia Group Advisors. He is a leading expert on the politics of Malaysia and of Muslim politics in Southeast and South Asia. His opinion pieces have been featured in leading media including The Straits Times\, The Nation and Jakarta Post. Nawab also is a frequent commentator on political Islam\, terrorism and Southeast Asian politics on CNN\, BBC\, Al-Jazeera and Channel News Asia. Nawab is a social activist and serves as the President of Critical Xchange. He also sits in the board of Association of Muslim Professionals. In 2014\, he was nominated to attend the inaugural Young Southeast Asian Leader’s Initiative. \nRomain Caillaud is a Director at Asia Group Advisors. He oversees the firm’s project execution teams in Malaysia\, Singapore and Myanmar. Romain has more than a decade of advisory experience in Southeast Asia in extractive industries\, telecoms and technology\, financial services\, and the food & beverage industry. He served as President of the French-Myanmar Chamber of Commerce from 2012 to 2015. \nOnly for members of EuroCham or EU-ASEAN Business Council.\nClick here to register.  \nJointly organised by:  \n \n  \n  \n  \n

SUMMARY:SIIA 5th Singapore Dialogue on Sustainable World Resources
DESCRIPTION:Climate Action: Seeding Green Growth and Resilience in ASEAN \nTwo years since the Paris Agreement\, many ASEAN countries are placing increasing emphasis on combating climate change and its adverse impacts. Governments have started to invest in improving air and water quality\, low-carbon transport\, and better use of physical resources to shift towards green growth. Efforts are also being made to cut greenhouse gas emissions and prevent the spread of fires and haze. \nThe agroforestry and resource sector in particular has witnessed a growing momentum in adopting sustainable practices and protecting ecosystems. But questions are still being asked about whether these efforts are enough to address climate change\, and how we can spur greater growth in green investments. Against this backdrop\, the 5th Singapore Dialogue on Sustainable World Resources (SDSWR) invites regional representatives to explore the following questions: What policies can governments and corporations adopt to encourage green growth? How sustainable is today’s plantation sector\, and are there commensurate rewards for being sustainable? And to what extent are current industry approaches\, like certification\, still relevant as a tool for achieving sustainability? \nTo have more information please click here. \nFeatured Speakers: \n\nMr. Masagos Zulkifli\, Minister for the Environment and Water Resources\, Republic of Singapore\nDr. Bambang Brodjonegoro\, Minister of National Development Planning\, Republic of Indonesia\n\n  \nProgramme: \nPanel 1: How ASEAN Governments Are Shifting to Green Growth\nPanel 2: Doing Well by Doing Good: The Evolution of Sustainability in the Agri-Business Sector\nWorkshop 1: Bridging Top-Down and Bottom-Up Approaches: The Role of Financial Institutions in Inclusive Agri-Finance\nWorkshop 2: Sustainability Reporting in the Plantation Sector: Attracting Better Capital Flows\nWorkshop 3: The Relevance of Certification to Sustainability Today \nRegistration: \nTickets are on sale at S$300 per person.
