SUMMARY:Europe Day Luncheon Celebration 2014
DESCRIPTION:On the 5th of May 2014\, EuroCham celebrated the 64th anniversary of the Schuman Declaration of 1950 that led to the creation of the European Coal and Steel Community and subsequently of the European Union. The prestigious luncheon was attended by about 200 guests\, including Singaporean government representatives\, CEOs and managing directors of major European and Singaporean companies\, the diplomatic circle and the media.EuroCham is delighted to welcome Mr. Lim Hng Kiang as a guest of honour and speaker at this year’s Europe Day Luncheon. As the current Minister of Trade and Industry and due to his outstanding experience in various governmental bodies as the MND\, MFA\, MOF\, MOH\, and PMO\, we are looking forward to new insights in issues that are of high relevance for the EU and Singapore.\nThe Europe Day Luncheon is one of the annual highlights of the European Chamber of Commerce\, Singapore (EuroCham). This Europe Day\, EuroCham welcomed Mr. Lim Hng Kiang\, Minister of Trade and Industry\, to address a high-level audience with a key note speech\, followed by a question and answer session.

DESCRIPTION:The Chamber’s quarterly networking nights allow participants to expand and consolidate their networks at a European level. They are organised in collaboration with the National Business Groups and are hosted in new and trendy places around Singapore.This time we selected a new venue for our European Networking Night. The Bianca Supper Club at the Forbidden City by IndoChine at Clarke Quay. It offered a cozy venue for lounging and socializing.

DESCRIPTION:EuroCham invited its members to an up-to-date event on the results of the European Parliament elections 2014. Just after the elections\, selected speakers presented their views and assessments on the final results and the implications for Europe as well as for Singapore and ASEAN.Guest speakers talked about the results of the elections\, next steps for the EU institutions\, including the likely makeup of European Commission and its President\, as well as Presidential contenders for the European Council;  the impact of the parliamentary elections on the EU’s legislative and policy programme going forward; and what this means for business.
