Goethe-Institut Singapore Welcomes Dr. Asma Diakité as New Director

The Goethe-Institut Singapore is pleased to welcome Dr. Asma Diakité as our new Director, following the retirement of Dr. Martin Wälde.

Dr. Diakité brings to the position a wealth of knowledge and experience through her long career in culture and the arts. The institute is looking forward to embarking on new projects and achieving greater heights under her direction.

About Dr. Asma Diakité
Dr. Asma Diakité directed the cultural department of the Goethe-Institut South Africa and coordinated the regional cultural programs of the Goethe-Institutes in Sub-Saharan-Africa for almost 7 years. After studying Theater-, Film and Media Studies, Philosophy and Cultural Anthropology in Frankfurt am Main and Cairo, she founded and directed the artist network “Revolution Divine” and, after research in Thailand and Egypt completed her doctorate on the concept of exuberance in the performing arts.
